JAUNTY tunes from the Broad Town Belle fairground organ set the tone for Wootton Bassett's Spring Bank Holiday Fete in the grounds of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Town crier Owen Collier, who helped to publicise the event, also enjoyed the attractions.
And festival goers had the chance to give their MP a good soaking.
MP for North Wiltshire James Gray was in the pillory so people could take shots at him with wet sponges.
Face painting was popular with young visitors and the barbecue and the paella stand proved popular with older visitors.
A huge array of cakes, toys, books, videos and bric-a-brac were among goods on sale. There was a bottle stall, a hamper raffle and a main draw with £200 first prize.
"It was a pity it wasn't a bit warmer, but people seemed to enjoy themselves," said parish priest Father John Reville.
"People worked hard to put it all this together."
