POLICE have arrested a suspected dealer after carrying out drug raids in the town centre.
Officers searched two properties in town yesterday after reports of dealing in Corporation Street.
Heroin and cash was recovered at one of the homes.
A 40-year-old man was being questioned last night after being arrested on suspicion of possessing heroin with intent to supply.
PC Matt Barnett thanked the members of the public who provided the tip off and urged people to keep the information coming.
He said: "We received information from the local community about heroin dealing in and around the Corporation Street and town centre areas.
"The information that led to this arrest came from the community that has been affected by dealing and all that we would ask is that we keep getting this information."
A new team of officers have been assigned to clean up the Broad Green area.
"PC Barnett said: "We would encourage people to get in touch with us, especially around Corporation Street and Manchester Road.
"We have the resources and if they keep it coming we will act on it."
The sort of information the police need is names of those involved and where and when it is happening.
