A DATE has been set for the judicial review into the murder of a Swindon man's sister and nephew.

Frank Mullane, from Old Town, was granted permission to seek the review of the terms of reference of a probe into the murders of his sister Julia Pemberton, 47 and her son Will, 17, in their luxury home in Hermitage, Berkshire, in November 2003.

Julie was shot as she cowered in a cupboard by her husband Alan Pemberton who, after killing the two, turned the gun on himself.

The family previously lived in Castle Eaton, near Swindon.

Mr Mullane and other family members believe that Thames Valley Police failed to take steps to prevent the murders in spite of a series of warning signs. The review, at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, will be heard on July 24.
