THE Great Western Hospital hit several of its performance targets for April.

Swindon and Marlborough NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, has reported that there were no inpatients waiting more than six months for surgery at the end of April, while there were no outpatients waiting more than 13 weeks for an appointment during the same period.

And almost all patients (99.5 per cent) with suspected cancer, whose referral was received within 24 hours, were offered an appointment within 14 days.

April also saw all eligible patients receive the clot-busting drug thrombolysis within 30 minutes of their arrival at A&E.
