PEOPLE who want to have a say about the future of Headlands School have a bit more time to do so.
Swindon Council has changed the deadline date for feedback forms, which have been sent to every home in the area, to be returned on Monday, July 3.
The council has extended the date to ensure there is enough time to prepare full responses to people's concerns.
As we have previously reported, the council is planning to turn Headlands into an academy.
It would break free from local council control and would be governed by the Christian charity, United Learning Trust with financial backing from Swindon-based car giant Honda and Sir Anthony Greener.
But the proposals are still at the planning stage and members of the public are being invited to tell the council what they think.
Consultation papers and feedback forms are also available at libraries in Gorsehill, Penhill and Pinehurst, along with the Pinehurst Community Association. Public consultation meetings are being held next Monday and Tuesday at Headlands School and the papers will also be available there.
Information regarding the proposals and a copy of the consultation documents can also be found on the council's website at www.swindoneducation.org.uk
Forms should be returned to the Children Services Directorate at Sanford House, Sanford Street, Swindon SN1 1QH.
