FOOTBALL fans in the town are being urged to give a red card to waste by recycling their share of the 32 million cans and bottles which will be drunk in the south west during the World Cup.
Sven-Goran Eriksson is backing the Government-funded national recycling week called the BIG recycle, which begins today.
Fans thirsting for an England victory in the south west will crack open about 12 million cans and bottles of beer, lager or cider up 33 per cent on an average month.
They will also get through 20 million soft drinks as they cheer on Sven's men from their living rooms, according to new research.
