THERE will be plenty of hearts skipping a beat when Scouting For Girls make a return visit to Swindon’s Oasis on Tuesday night.
And bassist with the trio, Greg Churchouse, says that fans can expect a great night full of both old and new favourites.
“We’re all very much looking forward to going back to Swindon,” he said.
“We did a handful of dates with our last album and it’s always really nice going back to places you’ve played before.
“We’re not one of those acts to shy away from doing the old favourites so you’ll definitely be hearing a few of those along with tracks from the new album.
“It’s going to be a great night.”
The group released their self-titled debut album in 2008 and instantly became known for their contagious, piano-led pop songs such as She’s So Lovely, Heartbeat and Elvis Isn’t Dead.
Their second album, Everyone Wants To Be On TV was released last month, and Greg said they are delighted with the results.
“It’ll be really nice to get it out there and see what sort of reaction we get from it,” he said.
“Everytime we do something we always look to take it up another level.
“We had written a lot of material for this album and then had to re-do it, but we’re really happy with how it sounds now.”
Greg and lead singer Roy Stride have been friends since school. They decided the wanted to be in a band after seeing Suede perform live.
With a number one album and chart-topping singles under their belts, performances at some of the country’s biggest festivals and receiving BRIT nominations, things are definitely going well for the band.
“It’s most definitely not hard work, in fact we probably enjoy it a little bit too much,” confessed Greg.
“I really love being out on the road. Getting to do this job is the best feeling in the world.”
The gig is a standing event and under 14s must be accompanied in to the hall by a responsible adult.
