TALENTED electric string quartet Asteria will be headlining this year’s Swindon Charity Ball.
The four glamorous girls will be playing a variety of classical favourites and instrumental versions of pop songs for the major May 15 fundraiser at the Marriott Hotel.
The group comprises four girls who have been musically trained at the highest level.
Asteria’s shows are a mix of musical styles with the essence of the show being filled with classical crossover favorites and instrumental version of pop songs, past and present.
Violinist Kate Sharp, who was born in Bath, said: “We are delighted to be performing at the forthcoming charity event in Swindon. Supporting charities like the Have a Heart Appeal and Wiltshire Blind Association gives us a great opportunity to makes a real impact in improving so many people’s lives.
“Some of us have, in fact, grown up in the Wiltshire area so it’s great for us to be returning to this part of the country to take part in an event which makes such a difference to the local community.”
This year’s charity ball continues to support amazing projects in Swindon. Over the years, the Swindon Charity Ball has raised more than £600,000 for good causes. This year’s event looks to be no exception.
The Marriott Hotel in Swindon will be hosting the event with the hotel’s chefs preparing a spectacular five-course gala dinner arranged to complement this year’s themed event, Fire and Ice.
During the evening, guests will also have an opportunity to win a piece of diamond jewellery donated by Deacon and Son in the Diamond Draw which will be held at midnight, along with the opportunity to bid on auction prizes which include a nine-day holiday to Egypt including flights and accommodation, and a seven-day holiday to Washington DC, including flights and accommodation, which have both been donated by Marriott Hotels.
