OLDER cats in Swindon are the latest victims of the ongoing impact of the economic climate, according to a local animal charity.
The Swindon branch of the Cats Protection League, which helps re-home and neuter cats and reunite lost cats with their owners, is appealing for more residents to come forward to rehome them.
A spokesman said it has seen as a result of the recession a significant rise in the number of cats, particularly over five years of age, needing to be re-homed.
Some will require special considerations when re-homing, but many are healthy cats needing a good home.
