POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following a robbery in Swindon on Friday night.
The incident took place in an alleyway towards Tennyson Street between 10.30pm and 11pm.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, was approached by three teenage boys and two girls after cutting through the alleyway between Curtis Street and Tennyson Street, which goes across the old canal path near the Milton Road underpass.
The group exchanged words and the three boys tried to attack the man.
He managed to walk away towards Tennyson Street but the boys surrounded him again and demanded he hand over his mobile phone.
They then made off with the phone.
Police described the three as being white and in their late teens.
Detective Constable Justine Wilkinson, from Swindon CID, said: “I would appeal to the public to come forward with any information about this robbery.
