SUBMARINES and sea creatures were the main attraction at a children’s activity day.
The Jam in Deep Water event was run by St John’s Church in Haydon Wick and is an annual event for children from the area.
Each year the church holds a Jam event – which stands for Jesus and Me – with this year’s theme being the deep blue sea.
The Rev Raymond Adams said: “We’ve had the desert, space and the Caribbean as themes before but this year it was deep water.
“The children are told a story from the Bible and then see a drama that brings some issues to the fore for the children.
“Then they did some craft activities like making submarines and sea creatures – there was lots of singing and noise and creativity.
“Then we follow it up in church on the Sunday.
“It’s designed to give children who don’t normally come to church a good experience of what’s going on inside the building.
“We do see kids coming back year after year.”
