SWINDON police are investigating a robbery which took place on the footpath at the underpass at the junction between County Road and Great Western Way.
The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Thursday when a male was walking home on his own from the County Road area towards Pinehurst when he noticed a group of males of Asian appearance standing near the County Ground pub.
The group followed him before stopping him at the underpass where he was restrained and punched to in face and stomach a number of times before they made off with his black Samsung mobile phone The offenders are described as a group of four to five males about 17 to 18-years-old, and all about 5ft 8ins in height One of was wearing dark blue tracksuit bottoms with a white hooded top and another was described as riding a red and black chopper-style bicycle.
Police want to hear from any witnesses.
