WORK was due to start today on repair and improvement works to roads in Haydon Wick.
The council’s Highways and Civil Engineering Department should start footway reconstruction and remedial works at The Brow, High Street and Blunsdon Road. Work will be done between 8am and 4pm daily and is expected to take five weeks to complete.
No weekend work is planned.
Once the footway works is complete, carriageway resurfacing will be carried out and there will be short-term road closures.
Residents will be notified of exact dates before work starts and are also requested not to park vehicles on the road during the times listed.
The work is part of the council’s highway maintenance programme and is intended to improve road safety and enhance the area under its StreetSmart Initiative in conjunction with the local flood alleviation scheme.
