Volunteers are wanted to jump from a 200ft crane in aid of charity. The Town Local in Wootton Bassett is hosting the sponsored bungee jump tomorrow, Thursday May 20, Adrian Hill, the landlord of the Town Local, said: “We are raising money for Help The Heroes Charity in Lyneham and my cook Sarah Green is doing the jump.’’ Some of the bungee jump volunteers have actually been in Afghanistan and seen first hand the horrors of war. The Lyneham organiser of the charity is Careena Byth who will also be jumping from the crane which will be set up in the pub car park. The charity is close to the hearts of most people living in Wootton Bassett as the town regularly pays tribute to the fallen as they are repatriated. Adrian said: “We wanted to help because they come through here all the time.’’ The bungee jump kicks off at 6pm and continues until 8pm. Anyone wanting to join the jump should call the pub on 01793 852114.
