A WOMAN was subject to a serious sexual assault in her home by two men in Broad Green.
Police said the 36-year-old was left ‘extremely traumatised’ following the incident which took place in an area around Manchester Road and Corporation Street between 10.30pm on Tuesday, May 4, and 2.10am the next morning.
Officers, who have released facial composites of the attackers, are appealing to the public for any information.
Detectives have established that the victim initially spoke to the two men in Alfred Street late on May 4 before they were invited back to her home.
It was inside her home that the sexual assault took place, though police are not stating exactly where the home is located.
A police spokesman said: “Following this assault, the victim was extremely traumatised by what had occurred, and specially trained investigators were utilised over a number of days, prior to the full facts being established.
“A detailed forensic examination has been completed at the scene, and expert scientists have been helping us with our enquiries.
“It has been essential to await the result of these forensic examinations, prior to the full details of this offence being released into the public domain.”
Police want to hear from anyone who may have knowledge of the incident.
In particular, they want to hear from anyone who may have seen the attackers in conversation with a woman in Alfred Street or walking together in that area late evening on May 4.
Officers also want to contact any taxi drivers who may have been working in this vicinity, who could have dropped off or picked up the two men matching the descriptions.
The first man who spoke to the victim in Alfred Street was described as being Asian in appearance, in his mid 20s to early 30s, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall, slim, with an oval-shaped face, black hair brushed to one side and facial stubble.
He was wearing a dark grey leather-look waist length jacket and dark blue jeans.
The second man was also Asian in appearance, in his late 20s, 5ft 7ins to 5ft 9ins tall, stocky, with a round face and short black hair of about 1in in length, receding at the sides.
He was wearing a navy-blue bomber-style jacket and dark blue jeans. He was carrying a blue carrier bag.
