SWINDON enjoyed the hottest day of the year so far as the weekend heatwave continued.
The town sizzled in yesterday’s temperatures which rose higher than some Mediterranean hotspots yesterday.
Afternoon temperatures reached 26°C, edging Turkey, Athens and Crete which only managed temperatures of 21°C.
It was well above the May average of 16°C.
According to the Met Office today’s temperature is expected to reach 27°C.
