WHEN textile artist Kath Danswan received an email from an American publishing company asking for pictures of some of her work she was only too happy to obliged.
And now two of the photographs she emailed over to the States have appeared in a new book, 1000 Artisan Textiles.
“A couple of ladies who were putting the book together saw my website and liked some of my work,” said Kath, 60, of Old Town, who is the co-founder of the Great Western Embroiderers and has recently started a new group called Sit-n-Stitch.
“It is so exciting to see my work in the book,” said Kath.
“The blurb on the back describe it as being a stunning gallery of some of the finest textile work around today. It is an honour to be published amongst some really superb pieces of work.”
The book will be available to buy in the UK and members of the embroidery groups are looking forward to seeing a copy.
“I think they are all proud of me,” she said. “They’re all excited about seeing it in print.”

Sit-n-Stitch is open to everyone, regardless of ability. The next meeting is at Lawn Community Centre on June 11 from 9.30-11.30am.
