People in Swindon are being encouraged to get their thinking caps on and start planning fundraising activities for a series of fun-packed events and activities in aid of British Polio Week, from July 3–11.
The British Polio Fellowship – a charity dedicated to helping those living with the effects of polio and post polio syndrome – is inviting people to take part in fundraising activities in order to help it reach a £50,000 target for the week.
John Hooper, chief executive of the fellowship, said: “If the last British Polio Week is anything to go by, this year’s promises to be fantastic. There are some great events lined-up in Swindon and it would be great to see people supporting us, so please join in.”
Every penny of the money raised during British Polio Week will go towards the support and services that the charity provides, including heating and holiday grants, welfare visits, social activities, information days, and an information and support line to help members live full independent and integrated lives.
