A family run hotel is flying the flag for Swindon Town footballers, ahead of their Wembley adventure.
Staff at the Blunsdon House Hotel are joining in the Swindon Advertiser’s Paint The Town Red campaign today sporting all the memorabilia.
Six members of staff at the hotel, including manager Chris and his father, managing director John Clifford, are heading to the big game against Millwall, and Chris says he can’t wait because it is such a big event for everyone.
“It’s our local team and the football club is a customer of our hotel.’’ he said.
Chris, 28, from Redhouse, says that the whole team are a nice bunch. “Jon Paul McGovern is playing really well for us and Billy Paynter is owed a few goals. And you have got to remember that Swindon has never lost at Wembley. We must be optimistic,’’ he said.
Chris is a dyed in the wool Swindon Town fan and has been a supporter since his dad first took him to the game when he was eight years old, but he says that it is father who is the hardcore fan.
“He came back early from his holiday in Spain to go to the game. He goes to every home game.’’ If you are donning red today to support the Adver’s campaign, send your pictures to pixdesk@swindonadvertiser.co.uk
