SCHOOLCHILDREN have got behind Swindon Town’s bid to win the play-off finals at Wembley tomorrow.
Haydon Wick Primary School had a red and white day with pupils able to dress in red or white or the football team strip.
They also made good luck cards for the team and for goalkeeper Dave Lucas, whose son Josh attends the school.
The player was at the school yesterday to collect these and the best wishes of staff and pupils.
Headteacher Simon Cowley, who is a Swindon Town fan himself and is going to the game, said many of the children are Swindon Town fans themselves and have tickets to the game.
He said: “It gave us a focus on community and where we live.
“The children had an excellent day and they were really excited.
“It was really a celebration of Swindon going to Wembley, but we also looked at Swindon as a community and what makes Swindon great and how we can improve it for future generations.
“I think the school community is very excited about the prospect of Swindon beating Millwall and going into the Championship.”
