SWINDON Town supporters are being offered travel advice as hundreds head out to the game at Wembley today.
All fans, whether going by car, coach or train, are being warned to leave as soon as possible to ensure they reach the stadium on time.
First Great Western is operating four trains an hour from Swindon to London throughout the morning. This will be mirrored in the evening until 9pm, when services will be every half-hour until 11pm.
A spokesman said: “Fans should plan to travel early to allow plenty of time for their journey.
He added: “We don’t have the resources available to run any late trains and those fans who are planning to stay on in London after the game should check their return times carefully.”
More than 60 coaches were set to leave the County Ground at 9.30am today bound for Wembley. Four coachloads of Swindon supporters will be leaving from the Rat Trap pub in Stratton between 9am and 9.15am.
The Highways Agency has confirmed there are three short stretches of roadworks on the M4 causing ‘slight delays’ in both directions at Hungerford, Reading and Windsor.
The latest Met Office forecast for Swindon indicates the day will start with light rain, followed in the afternoon with medium cloud.
The weather in London is expected to be dominated by low-level cloud, with light rain between 1pm and 4pm.
