EVERYTHING was Absolutely Fabulous when Joanna Lumley impersonator Sue Bradbury met her idol.
She has been impersonating her for more than 16 years without meeting her.
Sue, who comes from Marlborough, was working at an insurance conference at London and the two of them were introduced.
“It was a once in a lifetime meeting,” said Helen Walker, who works for insurance company Markel and managed to engineer the meeting.
“Joanna was lovely in person and really delighted to meet her lookalike. It was a triumph to get a picture of the pair together.
“The likeness really is uncanny!"”
Sue Bradbury said she was surprised that she and Joanna had never met in the 16 years she had been doing her character.
“She was a delightful person and when we met she said that found it quite spooky, the fact that there were two of her.
“I was really thrilled to meet Joanna, who is a real lady.”
Sue was a professionally trained actress appearing on TV programme shoots and during the long run of the Absolutely Fabulous TV show she set up on her own as a look alike. She has performed on cruise ships around the world, been hired for entertainment at weddings and was even approached by the late Princess Diana for an engagement.
Steve Carroll, managing director of Markel, said: “Helen really went the extra mile to get a unique photo.
“Her quick thinking snapped both celebrities together as Joanna Lumley was only at the conference for a short one-off speech.”
