ORGANISERS of a charity fun run are celebrating another successful event.
This year’s Mad March Hare event, on March 7, has so far raised £7,506 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer Wiltshire.
The race, which starts and finishes at Greendown School and runs around Lydiard Park, started in 2008 with 240 runners, but last year had 500 runners who raised £12,000.
This year saw 720 entrants led around the 5km or 10km course by 80 volunteers.
Next year’s event is already being planned for March 20, but those interested can check the website for more details.
Organiser Mandy Martin said: “The Mad March Hare organising team would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part.
“It was a brilliant day and without everyone’s support and hard work this event would not have been such a success.
“We hope everyone who took part enjoyed the event and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.”
The team thanks its sponsors, Legal & General, Les Slinn Personal Training, the Big Adventure Store, Muevete Fitness, David Lloyd Gym and Fitness Centre, Acorn Press, the Co-operative, Fitness First, Swindon Council and Challenge Swindon.

Those who have not yet sent in their sponsorship money still have time to send it in to Judith Stoddart at 16 Portmore Close, Sparcells, Swindon SN5 5FB.
