Residents from a care home took part in a 24-hour dart-a-thon.

The Cedars residential home for the elderly is based in Purton and two of the carers, Richard Sawyer and Angela Franklin, organised the darts marathon to pull in some money for the residents’ amenity fund.

Having a go at the bullseye was a new game to some of the residents who showed a natural aptitude and skill for darts while others found it a bit more of a challenge but everybody had a good time. They raised more than £250.

Manager of The Cedars, Tracy Carash, said: “The dart-a-thon started at 2pm and finished the following day at 2pm. The day was enjoyed by everyone.’’
