The Isambard Lantern Parade will start at North Swindon Library at 6pm on Wednesday 27th October and will make its way through the streets and across the road bridge, ending up at Isambard Community School where refreshments will be available.
We promise a magical, colourful, happy occasion for families. There will be flags, banners and lanterns and the whole parade will be accompanied by Swindon Samba band.
Following the last lantern parade in 2008, one parent said: My daughter who is 2 years, had such a fabulous adventure this evening. It was such a lovely experience and we can't wait for the next one. She was so excited and kept saying 'magical!’ If you are one of the two hundred people who have joined in one of our workshops, you can collect your lantern at the start of the Parade. We have some spare lanterns too which we shall issue on a first come, first served basis. We will have some glo-sticks on sale so that people without lanterns can join in the fun.
Everyone is welcome, bring your family and friends. Just turn up at Swindon Library before 6pm and join us for the walk which ends up at Isambard Community School. The whole event will be finished by 8pm.
