A longtime member of the Orchid Society of Great Britain will be attending a free Orchid Weekend at Swindon Garden Centre.
David Stratford will be at the event on Saturday and Sunday to give visitors to the garden centre advice on the care of orchids.
Manager Lewis Fox said: “We are delighted David, who is also a member of the Darlington and District Orchid Society, is able to attend our Orchid Weekend.
“David has a wealth of knowledge regarding orchids.
“He will be available to answer visitors’ questions and offer tips and advice.”
There will be 12 varieties of orchids on display and advice on caring for them.
Lewis said: “As well as all the free expert advice provided during the Orchid Weekend, we will also have displays of orchids on show running up to and including Mother’s Day on March 18.”
Free leaflets on caring for orchids will be available too, while stocks last. There will also be a flower drawing competition for children to draw their favourite bloom. The closing date for entries is 4.30pm on Friday, March 16.
