IT wasn’t just any makeover, it was an M&S makeover, as staff helped transform a charity shop.
Prospect Hospice’s shop on Clive Parade in Stratton was given a professional makeover yesterday by a team from Marks & Spencer’s Orbital Retail Park branch, eager to show its support for the charity.
The makeover, which was led by one of the retail giant’s merchandising team, involved overhauling the layout and display of the shop to maximise its sales potential.
The team from M&S started early and worked throughout the day to create a flagship shop at Clive Parade.
The development has come about through a strengthening link between the charity’s head of retail, Charly Rich and local business consultant Barry Lingard, a former M&S manager who put her in touch with the team from Orbital.
Charly Rich said: “We are delighted to use their expertise to fulfil the potential of our shop.
“The team from M&S Orbital have shown their support for Prospect Hospice in many ways.
“We were their chosen charity and, thankfully, that relationship has continued, through employee fundraising and staff taking part in events, such as our parachute jump, to their advising us on how we can best use the space we have available at our warehouse.
“We are grateful to the team in helping us make the most of our shop.”
Prospect Hospice needs to raise more than £5m to provide dedicated end-of-life care.
