A ROAD smash left two cars wrecked by the side of the road after an accident near the Science Museum this morning.
A blue Ford Fusion collided with a grey Fiat Punto at a junction about a mile south of the museum on the A4361.
The Ford was burnt out and the passenger was taken to hospital with a gash to the head. Fire, ambulance and police attended.
PC Chris Barham, from the Central Roads Policing Unit in Swindon, said: “We responded to calls at 8.07am.
“The blue car pulled out of a junction and collided with the other vehicle going towards Swindon.
“There was an electrical fire in one of the vehicles which was extinguished by the fire service.
“Fortunately no one was seriously injured.”
Drivers are being advised to take alternative routes if possible.
