THE SWINDON and Wiltshire Pride will be celebrating its fifth birthday this year and organisers are hoping it will be the biggest and best so far.
The event, which aims to promote equality and diversity within the community, will be held on August 4.
Several fundraisers are being planned over the coming months prior to the big day. Following on from the success of last year, the Pride Party Bash will be held on April 28 at The Pink Rooms in Victoria Road.
The event will be an afternoon of entertainment provided by local talent with acts. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased on the Pride website for £3 or on the door for £4.
The Pride Launch Party will then take place on June 30 at The Platform. It will begin at 8pm and planners are hoping it will be biggest launch party yet.
Last year’s Pride event was a huge success with several thousand people taking part in the festivities. Over 150 people took part in the parade as it began and over the course of the day hundreds more arrived to watch the entertainment provided, which included rock singers and tribute acts.
The organisers are still keen to hear from any company or individual who can provide sponsorship, volunteer or provide venue facilities Pride, event as well as performers and comedians.
