ARTWORK by local schoolchildren took pride of place as part of a festival at Drove Primary School.
The festival was put together using the creativity of pupils from Drove, Moredon, Rodbourne Cheney, Tregoze, Mountford Manor and Nyland schools.
The display included pictures and models with a variety of different themes and is part of a wider event. The children, who are all in Years 2 to 6, have also been taking part in a number of other activities during the school day ranging from singing and poetry to team art projects, with medals and trophies given for the top performers.
Denise Lyon, one of the organisers, said staff had been bowled over by the quality of the work.
“The enthusiasm of the children has been fantastic, not only for their own work but also in other pieces,” she said. “We have been overwhelmed and very impressed at how supportive the parents have been of this project.”
The six schools involved in the project make up The White Horse Federation and one of the central works on display was a jigsaw depicting the White Horse Federation logo.
Each school was asked to make a piece using only green and white materials and the complete work will be put in the entrance of Croft School, on which building work is soon to begin.
