Oxfam asked for help hosting a #gettogether for International Womens Day. At first I considered holding a little coffee morning at home for close freinds in the hope of raising a couple of quid. But then I read the website more closely. http://www.oxfam.org.uk/WomensDay/why And seriously, a couple of quid just wont cut it. I need to raise tons more. £46 will help train a midwife, so imagine what we could do if we help raise £100 or more?
So I have organised a big get together fundraising fair with stalls from local businesses (and some further afield), a lovely raffle, a craft table for the kids and a couple of debutots sessions to partake in, pampering sessions and more!
And of course we have the all-important get together cafe, grab a fairtrade cafedirect coffee or tea or a fairtrade Divine Hot chocolate with a cupcake, share with friends, sit down, relax, enjoy, chat and generally be together whilst knowing that EVERY penny spent in the cafe goes to our fundraiser.
Entrance is free, all stalls have either made a donation fee, or a raffle prize or both to help our fundraiser. Some are even giving it all away, you buy and our fundraiser collects just covering their travel costs!
An amazing bunch of ladies (and a couple of men!) have come together to help me organise this fundraiser and the facebook and twitter community have been amazing sending in raffle prizes and helping me from a small coffee morning in my living room to our big get together!!
The event has been organised with a teeny weeny budget. The hall was very kindly payed for by Playsteps nursery in Swindon, the fairtrade coffee, teas and sugar supplied by the amazing team at cafeDirect HQ, the hot chocolate by Divine chocolate, the amazing cupcakes by Belles - The cake company, all the cakes have been baked and donated by friends of mine and so the list goes on!
So please, come and see us, get together with your friends and come and have a cuppa with us, browse the stalls and chat with their friendly owners, and most of all spend some money and help us raise a packet load!
Thursday 08th March St Bartholomews Church Hall, Rope Yard, Royal Wootton Bassett 0930 am to 1130 am I look forward to seeing you all there! The more the merrier!
Oh and I forgot to say, the first 50 ladies through the doors will get goodie bags!
