A NEW Co-op store will open in the town centre this week.
The supermarket chain is investing £300,000 in the Regent Street branch, which was formerly Burger King, as part of its ongoing commitment to serving local communities.
And pupils from nearby Holy Rood Catholic Infant School will be on hand to help manager Debbie Jones to cut the ribbon on Thursday.
The investment in Swindon has created 22 new jobs and will offer customers a range of quality groceries from meat and produce to freshly baked bread and chilled beers and wines.
Debbie Jones, manager of the store in Regent Street, said: “We operate in the heart of the community and by doing so provide an ideal location for people to shop locally.
“Our new store will help improve the vitality of the area, so I look forward to welcoming customers into the new store.”
The school will receive £200 as a thank you for its help.
