A MAN suffered a broken ankle and a broken leg following an altercation in the early hours of the morning.
The 33-year-old man had been denied entry into the Oriental Aroma Chinese restaurant, in Royal Wootton Bassett, at 12.30am on Saturday after he got into an argument with one of the door staff.
Witnesses to the confrontation, which took place opposite the restaurant in the High Street, are being sought by police.
The victim is still recovering in Great Western Hospital after surgery on his injuries.
Detective Inspector Mark Garrett said: “The victim has a broken ankle and a broken fibia – it is a nasty break and had to be plated and screwed.
“The victim was not allowed entry into the Oriental Aroma and got abusive to doorstaff. He walked across the street and was disorderly. We need to clarify the version of events.”
