THE Rotary Club of Swindon Old Town is looking for two 16 to 18-year-olds to participate in an all-expenses-paid leadership course to be held in the Forest of Dean this summer.
The teenagers will be among 40 participants from across the region who will enjoy a series of outdoor practical exercises supported by theory and classroom discussion.
The six-day course, which will take place in the third week of July, will provide individuals with the opportunity to improve their leadership skills, and develop their communication skills and self confidence.
The Dean Field Studies Centre provides comfortable accommodation and the chance for participants in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award to take part in outdoor activities, including a ropes course, canoeing, climbing, caving, abseiling and orienteering.
The RYLA Certificate, which is awarded at the end of the course, is worthy of inclusion in a CV and it is recognised by colleges and universities.
Anyone interested can contact David Gray on 01793 823015 or via email at revdgray@btinternet.com The deadline is Friday, April 6. More details can also be found at www.swindonoldtownrotary.org.uk
