A STORE is hoping for the sweet taste of success as it prepares for Swindon Town’s trip to Wembley.
Staff at Sweets Galore, in the Brunel Centre, hope they have the recipe for success as they sell STFC sweets ahead of the game.
Owners Sue and Dave Bracken are selling the sweet treats after one of their suppliers, who happens to be from Chesterfield, made them a batch of the red and white goodies.
The shop not only has the Swindon sweets on sale, but in the true spirit of the game, are also allowing the away side to have their traditional blue and white sweets sold.
Sue said: “My supplier is in Chesterfield and they make traditional hard boiled sweets.
“Because of the game she said they could make some for Swindon, which are red and white.
“They have sent us six tubs of the Swindon Town sweets and one of the Chesterfield ones.
“The Swindon ones are selling really well, and we have had a few Torquay fans who are going for the Chesterfield ones.”
Both Sue and Dave will be going to the game and say the game has created a real buzz about the town.
“Of course we are going,” said Sue. “I think everyone is – the club have nearly sold out their allocation.
“There is a real buzz around the town. A few of the players were at the STFC store [in the Brunel Centre] today and the trophy will be there next week, which is good for business.
“Everyone’s talking about the game. We are hoping for a better result than the play-off final and that the team can bring the trophy home.”
The sweets are available from the shop in the Brunel Centre ahead of the final on Sunday, March 25.
