Enjoy being led astray this weekend as Swindon offers a varied choice of culture, drama, music and St Patrick’s Day fun.
Tonight sees the Ridgeway Theatre Company host Lead Astray which is an evening of poetry, comedy, music from Rumour Shed trio and singer/songwriter Matthew Kilford at The Holy Cross Church in Chiseldon. Tickets are £10 from 01793 740784.
In total contrast The Hammerman, a West End-style musical about the life of Swindon’s poet Alfred Williams, is at the Phoenix Theatre, New College, tonight at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 from 07814 254269. The musical was written by John Cullimore and John Moorhouse and stars Paul Bradley.
Josie Kelly and Friends mark St Patrick’s Day from noon at The Cricketers, Emlyn Square. It is a free gig.
Tomorrow it is time for another Irish knees-up with Dave Finnegan’s The Commitments bringing the songs from the movie to the MECA in Regent Circus. Tickets are £12.50 from 01793 495527.
