PUPILS swapped their schoolbooks for saucepans when they visited the Ganges Restaurant for their topic on India.
About 60 children from Broad Hinton Primary School visited the Indian restaurant in Royal Wootton Bassett to learn how to make chicken korma, naan bread and pilau rice.
The children, who were aged from seven to 11, had lunch at the restaurant afterwards and owner Enam Chowdhury said the curries went down a treat.
“He said: “It was nice because they are the future generations who will come to have Indian food.
“Maybe they don’t taste it normally. It is a great privilege.”
The children spent about half an hour in the kitchen helping with the cooking before tucking into their meals.
“There were a lot of questions. Some were asking ‘what is the hottest curry you do?’ “We showed them how we make hot curry as well and which spices we use. It was fantastic,” he said.
