THE OWNERS of little Miracle the puppy, thought to be one of the smallest pups born, have been left devastated after she passed away.
Miracle, a Jack Russell Chihuahua-cross born nearly two weeks ago, died at the weekend.
She was one of five puppies born to Lucky and Donut, who belong to 10-year-old Kayley-May Cole and her family, from Chiseldon.
The other four puppies died at birth, but Miracle, with a little bit of special attention from Kayley-May seemed to be happy and healthy yet extra tiny.
Grandad James Cole said: “She hadn’t been particularly ill, she just didn’t seem her usual self, she wasn’t very lively.
“I think the main problem was that her mother wasn’t feeding her any milk, we were feeding her day and night but we took her to the vets and asked if there was anything they could do, but they said they couldn’t.
“The kids are all really upset,, really devastated, even I am upset about it, she was lovely.
“It has affected the whole family.”
When Miracle was born, she weighed just an ounce and a half and was three inches long.
The family were feeding her on special milk with a syringe because a baby’s bottle dwarfed the little pup.
