THE Appointments Commission has appointed Tony Barron as chairman of the boards for the PCT cluster of NHS Bath and North East Somerset and NHS Wiltshire.
The boards will lead the PCT Cluster in its crucial role of supporting the development of the new clinical commissioning groups, while ensuring people can continue to access high quality health care services.
Ed Macalister-Smith, chief executive for NHS B&NES and NHS Wiltshire cluster, said: “As we move to the next phase of NHS reforms I’m delighted that we have a strong, highly experienced and capable team.
“Alongside our GPs, local authorities and voluntary sector partners we will ensure patient safety and quality remains at the top of our agenda.”
Tony said: “This is a challenging time for the NHS but we are very fortunate to have high calibre non-executive directors across B&NES and Wiltshire who will continue to work with us to ensure the best possible National Health Service for our patients, staff and public.”
Tony previously worked as a non-executive director for the South Central Strategic Health Authority. He was appointed chairman of NHS Wiltshire in December 2006. His latest post runs until March 2013.
