Some top drawer music unfolds this week in Swindon, kicking off tonight with the Mike Burney Trio.
Mike was in 1960s pop idol Billy Fury’s band before joining Roy Wood in Wizzard. He is featured on the recording of I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day. Mike has also worked with Chaka Khan, The Beach Boys and Sammy Davis Jnr.
Tomorrow he is bringing his trio, bassist Clive Morton and pianist Alex Steel to Baker Street, Old Town from 8.30pm. It is a free gig.
Tomorrow, the pupils of Commonweal School and friends showcase their skills in their Spring Concert at Christ Church in Old Town.
The array of talent includes the Lethbridge Drummers, The Big Sing Thing, and the school’s community partners. Tea, coffee and cake will be served in the church from 6pm.
Tickets are £3 from aclarke@commonweal.co.uk.
