SWINDON Down’s Syndrome Group has been given a cheque for nearly £2,000 from telecommunications company AFL.
The company, based at the Hawksworth Trading Estate, handed over a cheque for £1,890.72 to the group in support of its speech and language therapy group.
The grant is part of AFL’s Community Outreach Programme that helps charities in the local area.
Margaret Harman, AFL’s HR and EHS manager, said: “On behalf of AFL and the community outreach programme, we are pleased to continue supporting the Swindon Down’s Syndrome group as the charity is a tremendous asset to our community.
“We applaud their efforts to provide an opportunity to help young children improve their communication skills and develop confidence.”
The group’s treasurer, Kim West said the group had a commitment to ensuring that the service would continue to be provided for as long as there are children and young people in need.
