PRIMARY school pupils were invited to Royal Wootton Bassett Academy for a taste of design and technology sessions.
A workshop took place at which primary school students and their parents came into the school for a design and technology ambassadors event where they could try out the machinery and equipment.
It was one of six after- school sessions being offered every term for parents and pupils of the academy’s feeder schools and the session had an Easter theme.
Design and technology teacher Adam Mills said: “The aims of these workshops are to offer the opportunity for Year 4, 5 and 6 students to experience studying design and technology at the school.
“It also promotes family learning and offers a platform for shared parent and pupil learning.
“It is expected that the skills they learn will be passed on to their peers on return to their primary school to extend design and technology knowledge and support transition to secondary school.”
At each of the sessions a Wootton Bassett student who has been awarded Designer of the Term in their design and technology group supports the children during the activity.
