CHILDREN are being invited to pick up free cress seeds from a garden centre next month as part of its Spring Gardening Celebration.
Youngsters who complete an activity sheet can collect free packets of seeds, while stocks last, at Blooms Swindon Garden Centre in Hay Lane, near Wroughton.
Manager David Williams said: “During our Spring Gardening Celebration, which takes place from Saturday, April 14, until Sunday, April 29, we will be handing out free activity sheets to give youngsters tips on how to grow cress in all varieties of containers.
“Children who complete the activity sheets will be given a packet of cress seeds so they can grow their own cress ‘hair’.”
The event coincides with the Royal Horticultural Society’s National Gardening Week, which takes place from April 16 until 22.
It’s aimed at encouraging everyone to get involved in gardening.
The celebration is part of a series of free events at the centre throughout the year.
