THE Children’s Society has taken over the running of the Robert Le King children’s centre.
The organisation, which already runs the Croft, Eldene and Salt Way children’s centres in Swindon, officially took charge of delivering services for families, children and young people across the town at the Westcott Street centre yesterday.
The charity manages more than 30 centres across the country.
The Children’s Society, which has been awarded Outstanding gradings by Ofsted, was awarded the contract to take over running of the centre by Swindon Council, and the charity aims to build on the strong work carried out there previously, focusing primarily on working with families in Swindon to make childhood better for every child.
Jean Trewhitt, assistant director for the region, said: “The Children’s Society is delighted to take on another children’s centre.
“We will continue to deliver high quality services and make a continued difference in Swindon, meeting the needs of families and making a lasting difference in the community.”
