CHILDREN at South Marston Primary School went the extra mile to raise money for Sport Relief.
The school was joined by staff from Sainsbury’s in Stratton as pupils from the juniors and primary school ran a mile each for the charity last Friday.
Store manager Vince Brimble and deputy manager Ben Gregson took part in both races around the school field dressed as Batman and Robin. James Pembridge, Trisha Carter and Karen Prior also joined their colleagues to raise thousands for the charity.
James Pembridge, of the customer service team, said: “It was a very good day with Ben and Vince both dressing up for the occasion.
“We don’t know how much the school has made yet but in store we have raised £6,200.
“South Marston is our local school and we are trying our best to work with them and increase our work in the community which is important to us. We are pleased to have raised so much.#
