STUDENTS at St Joseph’s Catholic College have been collecting and distributing Easter eggs to people across the town.
They have been given 140 eggs to: the homeless at The Broadgreen Breakfast Club; refugees and asylum seekers at The Harbour Project; St Mary’s Convent, in Groundwell Road, to be distributed to less well-off families; and to the children’s ward at the Great Western Hospital.
College chaplain Julia Starczewski, who organised the event, said: “I have been doing this with the students for the seven years I’ve been at St Joseph’s. At St Joseph’s we believe very strongly in working with the students to help their local community. We hope it is something we can continue to do for many Easters to come.”
Students brought in Easter eggs or bought Fairtrade ones at the college, 50p of which from every sale goes to Children of the Forest.
