Eastcott Veterinary Hospital has been shortlisted for Vet Practice of the Year in the prestigious Petplan Vet Awards for 2012.

The awards, now into their 13th year, find the nation’s most exceptional vets, vet nurses, vet practices and support staff.

From saving dogs from life threatening injuries to performing dental surgery on lions, no day is ever the same at the vets which has recently grown from a small veterinary practice to veterinary hospital status.

Niki Burton, practice manager, said: “We are delighted and honoured to have been shortlisted for the prestigious Petplan Vet Practice of the Year award.

“We always strive to provide the very best care and being a finalist reflects this dedicated attitude.”

What really stood out for the independent panel of judges was Eastcott’s involvement with the community, which includes charity fundraising. The veterinary hospital recently organised a Team Adventure Challenge raising £10,000 for guide dogs.

Isabella von Mesterhazy, Petplan’s head of marketing, said: “The Vet of the Year Awards are the highlight of our Petplan calendar because they recognise the dedication that the veterinary industry puts into providing the nation’s pets with the best possible treatment.”

The awards ceremony is in Birmingham on April 12.
