Anna May Wong, who died aged 56 in 1961, began appearing on screen during the silent era, and her co-stars included such legends as Lon Chaney and Douglas Fairbanks.
Her story is told in Anna May Wong Must Die!, which comes to the Arts Centre next Tuesday.
The show is billed as “...a multimedia-illustrated journey through the life and crimes of Hollywood legend Anna May Wong, featuring comedy, music and poetry from performer Anna Chen.”
It grew from a half-hour programme about the actress, A Celestial Star In Piccadilly, which was first heard on BBC Radio 4 a little over three years ago.
The Arts Centre performance, which is sponsored by Wiltshire and Swindon GMB in association with Eastcott Labour Party, starts at 8pm.
Tickets cost £10 and the box office can be contacted on 01793 614837 and via www.wegottickets.com/swindonartscentre.
