There is no hiding place for Fugative when he comes to MECA as part of Captured, a grime and R’n’ B bonanza, aimed at the teens of the town.
Fugative, the white rapper whose hip hop and pop tunes have catapulted him into the limelight at the age of 16, will be getting down with the kids of Swindon on Saturday, April 14 from 7pm to 10.30pm.
The Brit teen, alias Harry Byart, was spotted by Kirk Burrows from Bad Boy Records. Kirk has worked with Eminem and founded the record label with P Diddy. He has taken Fugative under his wing developing the talented youngsters’s twisted hooks and colourful rhymes.
The rapper’s debut album No Goin’ Home went down a storm with the teen pack.
Fugative said: “I have given up a lot to get here and this record is for the fans.’’ He kicks off his MECA gig in Regent Circus with an alcohol free night aimed at the 12 to 17-year-olds, in keeping with the plans of the new managers of the old ballroom.
MECA director Justin Britchford said: “This is a great gig and is in line with our policy of programming shows for all age groups. We are planning hard to help parents to drop off and pick up people safely.’’ Supporting Fugative are shiny, grimy R ‘n’ B band Encore who toured recently with N-Dubz, Chipmunk and Taley Riley.
Also on the bill is Saskilla, lead singer of Nu Brand who went to number one in the UK chart with Gash By The Hour. Tickets are £7 plus advance booking from 01793 4495527.
