FANS will be on the run to grab the hottest ticket in town when MECA launches its under-18s night with a star-studded line-up, including star rapper Fugative.
The 16-year-old, real name Harry Byart, will headline the gig on Saturday at the Regent Circus venue, along with fellow grime artists Saskilla and Encore.
Having recorded with big name artists such as Wiley, Fugative made his name with debut album No Goin’ Home.
On his last visit to Swindon in 2010, he appeared at HMV for a meet and greet.
The event is to launch MECA’s first night for youngsters, named Captured, and manager Steve Causer said tickets had already gone well.
“There is already a bit of a buzz around town about his Saturday, as we’ve been promoting it quite a lot,” he said.
“It’s great to have acts of this calibre for our first Under 18s night. We called it Captured because we hope it will capture the imagination of the younger crowds.
“Fugative has blown up massively and his Twitter following is something ridiculous, while Saskilla and Encore are both great in their own right.
“We are hoping to have at least 600 people in, but we can fit up to 1,000.
“We’ve had a few events for the older generations recently and we wanted to launch the night because MECA is a music venue for everybody.
“Its for the younger market, too, and now they can come alone, enjoy themselves and have a great night.”
Tickets for the event, which opens at 7pm, are £7.70 in advance from www.swindontickets.co.uk or from the MECA box office on 01793 495527, or are available on the door for slightly more.
But you can gain tickets absolutely free in our great competition.
For a chance to win two tickets to the gig on Saturday, as well meet the man himself before he takes to the stage, simply answer the following question: What is Fugative’s real name?
Email in your entries to lfernandes@newswilts.co.uk.
The competition closes tomorrow at 3pm and the lucky winner will be notified by 5pm tomorrow.
